Kirsten's going through a rough time right now. She's so cranky! She wants to be held constantly! Though she says she loves Rachel and acts like she does, I really think it's jealousy. I never scold Rachel for spitting up and crying and I guess she's noticed that. She scolds her for me now.

She wasn't bad today though. I'm learning to deal with it. Einar and I both say "No" too quickly and then we feel we have to stick to it and we all get frustrated. I decided today to try not to say "No" until I've thought about it long enough to know if the request really was totally unreasonable. Often the answer is because of laziness on my part and nothing else.

Rachel's learning to suck her thumb. It's so cute. She's not growing very fast though - she was 10lb 6 oz a week ago.

Hope the sun comes out yet today. I'd like to walk to the post office with Kirsten and Rachel yet.

What an evening! Einar & I are starting to wonder if we'll ever get an evening to ourselves. Kirsten, Rachel & I all seem to have an allergy of some sort so we're all not feeling our best. We put Kirsten to bed at 9 and Rachel at 9:30. Neither were asleep before 10:30 and we spent that time running in and out, singing, carrying babies, stuffing the soother in Rachel's mouth, etc. Kirsten managed to get her leg twisted around the crib bars and after we got it out (without breaking it!) she settled down somewhat. Rachel is so stuffed up though - wish I knew what it was.

Kirsten talks and sings so clearly now. She loves talking ont he phone and can carry on a conversation quite intellegently. She's trained - I think!
