We've had a mail strike since June 30, and it looks like it has just started. Since there's no other way to get library supplies, Einar & I plan to go camping in a few weeks and pick up some either in Kelowna or Vancouver, WA.
It has been hot. Yesterday we went to Alice Lake for supper and Einar & Kirsten went swimming. Then we went to Park Royal to get a tent and Coleman stove. We dropped in at Mom's yet and had pie and ice cream with her. Kirsten was just super all evening! (So was Rachel, of course.) O yes, in the morning I babysat Michael and Philip while Doug & Trydy did their shopping. That was fun - except that Kirsten & Michael need to learn to share.

We were in Vernon camping last week. We had a super time with Bruce & Joy and also by ourselves. The kids were really good.

The drive home on Sunday was hot and dusty, but both girls slept all the way home. We stopped in Cache Creek for lunch and left Kirsten's blanket there. I phoned yesterday to ask them to send it by Greyhound. Hopefully we'll get it this week.

Yesterday I put Rachel to sleep at 5 and she slept until after we went to bed. Einar was a bit disappointed - he missed their daily chat. Rachel sleeps a lot - it's kind of nice. Kirsten spends most of her time outside, so I really have no excuse for having a messy house - except that it is so small that it does not stay neat very long!
