It's a Girl!

March 31, 1981

Well, our beautiful new daughter - Rachel - is three days old today. She loks a lot like Kirsten did - with a slightly rounder head. She's also a good baby just like Kirsten was - doesn't cry much and eats well. She always wants to suck after nursing tho - so Einar brought a soother for her. She's taking it quite nicely already. Her second night she went 8 1/2 hours without eating. Last night she woke once (ate at 11, 3:30 and 6:30). That was a blessing tho cuz my milk had come in and I was hurting. I think she'll sleep at night better than Kirsten did.

I miss Kirsten. Mom says she doesn't talk about me or Rachel much and I wonder if she feels a bit deserted. I can hardly wait to go home and hold her again. Today I feel like I'm well enough to go home already but I won't be for another two days. I'm glad tho - I need the rest.
