From MorMor's Journal - Of Journals and Timelines

I managed to find four boxes in my basement that had labels such as 'Deb's Journals' or 'Old papers', etc. I have gone through about 1 1/2 now, and am organizing my past into piles. I am surprised how hard it is to put things into the correct year. A few years ago, I started a timeline, so I could look at it and say that in this year, we lived here, or the girls did this in their summer, or I worked at this job.
If you're one who has kept a job for 30 years, that might not make sense to you, but we have made 2 major moves in our married life (to different provinces) and many smaller moves from one house to another. I have alternated between working full-time and staying home with our girls, which means there have been a number of different jobs in those years. The one constant is that Einar has been with Interstate Batteries for about 20 years now, but in different capacities.
As I'm finding old Christmas letters that we mailed out, I am finding myself correcting the timeline, which I thought was accurate. Maybe I'll never have my past fully organized. But for the purposes of this journal, at least I will have some stories. And some correct dates. As my grandkids begin new things, I want to remember their mothers at that age... and I find my memory failing me... or at least it is not as accurate as I'd like.
So stay tuned... the mess will get cleaned up eventually, and I'll be able to begin the fun part... reading and sharing some of what I wrote up to 30 years ago.
