Happy New Year!!
In my brother's New Year greeting to us, he wrote, "I'm thinking that I need to treat each day in this new year as a gift from God... a gift to be treasured and enjoyed. A gift also to be shared with those I come in contact with."
I loved the thought behind that. If I would live like this in 2011, it would be a wonderful year. As I pondered it last night, I thought about the first day of 2011. How it was a gift to me, and how I shared that gift with others. I could blog about that!! In fact, that would be better than any New Year's resolution because if I would blog about it daily (or as close to daily as possible), then each day I would be kept both thankful for God's gifts, and accountable for how I use them.
Now, you must know that I am no better at keeping resolutions than the average person. Which might mean that I keep this up for a week, or a month, or maybe not at all. I hope, though, that whatever I do... a little, or a lot... it will serve to make me a more thankful, thoughtful person.
That's my intro... now I must go to church. I'll have time to tell you about Jan 1 when I get back.
